Mary Scott Goode, 2018 TYCASC Pianist
Mary Scott Goode, pianist, is in frequent demand as both a soloist and an accompanist. She is a Professor of Music at Texarkana College where she teaches piano and Music Appreciation, and accompanies the Texarkana Regional Chorale. She founded the TC Music Series and performs frequently on campus concerts. Mrs. Goode is the principal keyboard player with the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra and has also been featured on Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor and Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto. In 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2014 she was the Texas Two Year College All State Choir accompanist and will be again in 2018.
Additionally, she has been the Rhode Island All State Choir accompanist, has accompanied for ACDA choirs and various All State and All Region choirs. She holds national certification through MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) and was the recipient of the 2009 Texarkana College Endowed Chair Award for Teaching Excellence. She has also served as President of the Texarkana College Faculty Association.
Ms. Goode attended The Eastman School of Music and Florida State University where she received a Masters in Piano Performance. She has been on the music faculty or staff at The University of Arkansas, The University of Rhode Island, The University of Tampa and Hillsborough Community College, Tampa.
